John came into the practice unhappy that he was not enjoying his food and didn’t feel confident when talking in public fearing that his false teeth could drop out at any moment. He was very concerned with the appearance as they did not show even if he gave a broad smile and he always wondered if that could be corrected as well.
After replacing the front teeth with dental implants treatment, there was a beautiful change in his smile, a massive change in his confidence too. All this after giving him a permanently fixed option with Dental Implants Treatment.

The average investment for dental implant treatments (including the implant, abutment and crown) is around £2500 per implant. However, there are finance options available where you can spread the cost interest-free across a year and with a small interest component up to 5 years. So it does come in a budget if you are able to spread the cost.
It is perfectly normal to consider carefully the cost of any serious investment. It is a lot to spend on your mouth and it is down to each individual patient to decide if the improvements to the quality of life, function, confidence, and appearance are worthwhile. We only ever prescribe treatment that is necessary and would like to reiterate the fact that we are always there for you for the very important after-care and maintenance of the implant treatment which is very important.
You also get a massive 10% discount if you become a member of Smile Circle.
This is one of the most common concerns for people thinking about having an implant.
The majority of implants are placed under a normal dental local anaesthetic. Though the local anaesthetic injections can sting a little, we have systems in place to reduce the pain by using very thin needles and warm anaesthetics. We also have a computerised injection system which is called the wand which can provide pain-free injection. Once you are numb, you will not feel anything sharp or painful at all throughout your treatment. You will feel some pressing and pushing during the procedure as well as some vibration during the drilling stage, but this will not be sharp or painful in any way and your dentist will check to make sure you are completely numb before they start the surgery.
For bigger procedures such as multiple implants or complex cases, sedation can be provided. Sedation is not a general anaesthetic but makes patients feel very comfortable and relaxed and they rarely remember much about the procedure afterward which is an advantage for many nervous patients.
Once the anaesthetic has worn off you may need to take over the counter painkillers but it's not unusual to have a very minimal level of pain or even no pain whatsoever. During the first few days after surgery, it’s possible the gum may feel a little sore as it heals and you might wish to stick to soft foods that are easy to eat. With a single dental implant, you should be fine to go back to work the next day.
There are a few factors that can make it necessary to wait for healing after tooth removal before an implant can be placed; the main factor being if there is any sign of infection. If the infection is present, we need to allow a healing phase of 8-12 weeks before we can place the implants.
There are some cases where we can go for Immediate Implants and then cover with immediate crowns or teeth, but that will depend on the suitability assessment done in the planning stage.
Don’t worry because you never need to have a gap if you don’t want one – there are all sorts of temporary solutions, both fixed and removable, to make sure there is no embarrassment at any stage through the implant process.
Normally the treatment times can be a little as 8-10 weeks from placement of the implant to fit of the final crown. However, sometimes treatment can take longer depending on the level of complexity of your case, with some patients not finishing for up to a year. The exact time frame will be ascertained from your comprehensive assessment including the CT scan done at the practice.
Any surgical procedure can have complications and dental implants are no exception. At the assessment stage, we look into all the potential side effects and complications if any and those are explained to the patient. If there are any contraindications present, we may defer or cancel the treatment.
When an implant is placed, your bone then needs to grow onto and fuse to the implant, in a process known as Osseointegration, if it is to become a firm foundation for a crown. In the unlikely event that your bone fails to grow onto an implant, we offer the choice of either a 50% refund, or to replace the implant completely free of charge one more time. We have usually found that patients wish to try again and that a second failure is exceptionally rare.
We do regularly audit our success rates and have seen about a 95% rate in the last year which is a very impressive figure. Trained and experienced surgeons, dentists, co-ordinators, and nurses help in providing a quality treatment that should last a long time.
Normally yes – We will do a comprehensive implant assessment of the mouth and jaw bone which includes, study models, photographs, and most important the 3D CT Scan which is in-house. We work with our experienced dental laboratories to give a long-term solution for our patients.
Very rarely we will explain that there is not enough bone to safely work with implants and then we have to consider alternative dental options with you and your dentist.
Yes, we can and we are highly experienced at this principle of dental implant treatments. You do not need one implant per tooth and can actually have as few as four implants to replace all of the upper or lower teeth. There are a variety of options for the type of bridgework supplied which can either be removable by you or fixed in place, so please see the relevant section of our website.
Absolutely yes! Dentures are most patients’ nightmare due to the difficulty in wearing and the effect on all aspects of life. Small dentures can be replaced with just a few implants, or complete (full) dentures can either be held in position with implants or of course replaced with implants all together – surely the most amazing dental transformation available. Implant-supported dentures provide the much-needed stability and confidence that the patient needs to eat and smile with ease.
Yes, in some cases, our skilled surgeons and dentists can place an implant immediately after extraction in the socket, provided there is no infection around the socket and if it meets all the suitable criteria gone through the assessment. It can then be covered with a temporary tooth till the healing takes place. But most of the time, it is better to wait for the healing to take place before placing dental implants.
Don’t worry because you need never have a gap – there are several temporary replacement solutions available to make sure there is no embarrassment at any stage through the implant process.
If the integration is successful and the area is well cared for and maintained with regular reviews and monitoring, an implant should last a lifetime.
It is possible to chip a crown or bridge on implants in the same way that it is possible to chip a tooth and sometimes the outer screw over the implants may become loose which can be easily corrected. We recommend annual reviews with x-rays to check the bone levels around the implants in addition to your regular check-ups with your dentist. We offer an annual review and you can enter in one of our membership plans with check-ups and hygiene sessions to take care of the treated area.
We now know that smoking does affect both natural teeth and implants. For natural teeth, smoking increases the risks of gum disease. For implants, smoking slightly increases the risks of complications at every stage of implant treatment. We would recommend stopping smoking to reduce any chances of implant failure in the long run.
The good news is that this increased risk is very slight and we successfully treat patients who are smokers every day at Dental Concepts.
Dental implants can be suitable for adults of any age. Implants aren’t recommended for under 18s as the jaw is still growing and the bone tissue hasn’t fully developed yet.
In your initial consultation, you’ll be assessed for your suitability for treatment. Occasionally, dental implants might not be recommended for some patients for medical reasons. For example, if you have previously had radiotherapy in your jaw or if you have diabetes that isn’t under control. If you smoke, you’ll be advised to give up before having an implant fitted. Research shows that the rate of implant failure is much higher for those who smoke than those who don’t.
Dental implants are inserted directly into the jaw, so your dentist needs to make sure there’s enough bone to support the implant. If you don’t have enough, it’s possible to graft bone from your other body parts, commonly your shin or hip, and insert it into the jaw. A bone graft may be performed under local anesthetic, or in hospital under general anesthetic, depending on where the bone comes from.
This may add some time to having your implant fitted, but can be necessary for the implant to be a success. Although this may sound intimidating, it’s a common surgery and is nothing to be worried about.
Dental implants treatment are a long-term, durable solution for missing teeth. If cared for properly, dental implants treatment can last just as long as normal healthy teeth.
To make sure you get the most out of your implant and that it heals successfully, we’ve put together the following advice.
Sleep with an extra pillow to lift your head for the first two to three nights to reduce the amount of swelling that may occur.
Ice packs can be held over the area operated upon for twenty to thirty-minute intervals, totaling not more than one to two hours during the first two days after the operation. This will normally reduce the amount of swelling.
Avoid alcohol for two weeks after the operation as this can impair healing.
The day after surgery (not less than 24 hours) commence warm salt rinses (1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon of salt in a cup of warm water) two or three times a day. Each rinse should be held against the affected area so that the warm salty water cools over it and is held there until the heat is gone. Then repeat until the cup is finished. This should last about ten minutes each time.
It is essential to avoid pressure on the implants for two weeks after they have been placed. This allows better initial stability of the implants. If you have a denture, this will have been adjusted carefully to avoid excessive pressures on the implants.
After each meal, gently rinse your mouth with warm water.
For two weeks after having your implant fitted, you must rinse the area with antiseptic mouthwash (which your dentist can recommend to you) morning and night for one minute. You’ll also need to rinse your mouth with warm salt water after every meal.
It's critical that you don't brush your implant until you’ve had your stitches removed. After a few days, you can brush your teeth again gently, avoiding the implant site as best you can. After two weeks, and the removal of the stitches, you can brush the implant with antiseptic gel and a soft brush.
For the first week after having your implant fitted, you should only eat soft foods such as mashed potatoes or soup. You should also avoid anything that might get stuck in your teeth like seeds or popcorn. If these get into the implant site, it could cause an infection.
Once your implant has been fitted and has fully healed, your implants and replacement teeth should work the same as natural teeth. You’ll be able to eat all your favorite foods, just as you would with normal healthy teeth.
It's likely you’ll have some pain, swelling, and bruising after your implant surgery. This can be reduced with the help of over-the-counter painkillers such as paracetamol or ibuprofen. If you have pain that is more severe, is increasing, or does not ease after a few days, contact your dentist.
It's also possible that the area may bleed; this is nothing to worry about. If the bleeding cannot be stopped with light pressure, contact your dentist as soon as possible.
If you smoke, your dentist will advise you to give up before you have your implant fitted. Research has shown that the rate of implant failure is much higher for those who smoke than those who don’t.
Once your mouth has fully healed, it’s important to keep up good oral health to make sure you get the maximum lifespan out of your implant. Make sure you brush your teeth at least twice a day and floss regularly.
You should also visit your hygienist frequently for scale and polish treatments. Your hygienist will also be able to see if any areas need more attention when brushing.
After you’ve had your implant fitted, your dentist will arrange review appointments to make sure that the bone and gum around the implants have healed correctly and that everything is comfortable for you. They will also check that you haven’t developed an infection.
If you have any concerns or if you think you might have an infection in the implant site, you should always contact your implant dentist as soon as you can.

The first stage involves fully understanding your exact needs. We do this by way of a Comprehensive Consultation. We want to understand what your preferences are and what you are trying to achieve with this type of dentistry.
Once we have a better understanding of your mouth, we will then go ahead to discuss all the different choices and options you have available to you.
In a straightforward case, this would be the stage in which we surgically place the implant in the jawbone. We use the most popular and long-standing, evidence based implant systems available, so we are confident that there is not problem long term.
After healing has occurred and the dental implant has integrated with the jawbone (osseointegration), impressions are taken to start the process of restoring the implant so that you can regain your chewing ability and aesthetics.
Regular reviews are important to maintain the health of your dental implant treatment. Routine hygiene appointments are also necessary to prevent any infection from affecting the treatment.
While the word is fairly long, it essentially refers to a quality check based on dental standards laid down by renowned Institutes keeping the ethos and working environment in mind. The main focus of the standard is on patient safety, quality of care and environment protection.

I am very lucky to have my teeth done by Manish. The thing I love about my smile is that I am not worried about it; am not worried about is it the right angle, can you see the gap here, can you see that’s not quite straight… I can smile with confidence. I have just got so many other things going on, that I would perhaps not had done, without that added confidence that came with the smile, I just loved and was comfortable with. I actually spoke to somebody the other day who has known me for many years and he said it’s made a huge difference; it was your weakest point. And I said what’s my weakest point now, he said you don’t have one! So my point is that if you want to have your teeth done, if you are worried about the way you look and it’s just your teeth that are letting you down, put your money into that guys, because it makes a huge difference, it has made a huge difference to me, its made a difference to my confidence! I am always smiling now.
I’m super thrilled with my new look and of all the cosmetic treatments available these days. I can honestly say this has made me the happiest. I feel completely different. From start to finish the whole journey has been totally surreal! I’m super thrilled with Dr Manish and the amazing job he’s done! I’d seen his work and knew he was an expert, but this result has surpassed all my expectations. What an investment this is! I can honestly say with hand on heart that for all the cosmetic treatments available, this has to be the absolute best ever! The face planning and digital software mean the smile is designed just for you and your face! Not the old fashioned one size fits all type veneers! Thank you!! For your passion, care and absolute perfectionism.
I just want to say a massive thank you to Dr Manish and his wonderful team at dental concepts, Andover… also to Nikki who was kindly on hand in the evenings for any queries or questions.. I felt I had ‘no’ hope after my top bridge of 18 years started to fail, I was turned away by 2 other dental practices, and felt desperate until I was lucky to of had Dr Manish recommended to me… he gave me an appointment within a few days as I had so much discomfort and talked me through what he could do for me with no pressure and WOW what results.. a beautiful smile.. As soon as you enter the practise you feel in safe hands and totally at ease, the whole team made my complete smile makeover an exceptional first-class experience. I feel confident for the first time in years… thank you again!!
I started my dental journey with Dr Manish, Shilpa, Manoj and the team a couple of years ago. I had reached the point where I was losing my teeth and self confidence was rock bottom. I needed to decide if I was going to have dentures or go down the implant route. I had an initial consultation with Manish and after completing scans showed me an image of what could be achieved with implants. He gave me a fixed price at the time and the journey started. Covid caused delays as did the quality of my jaw bone, but Manish was resolute that he would deliver what was promised. Deliver he did! As I write this review now with a solid bite, lovely white teeth and a huge smile I am simply delighted and cannot put into words how grateful I am to the magician they call Manish. I would have no concerns whatsoever recommending friends and relatives to this amazing dental practise and lovely team. Thank you so much Dr Manish.
I'll start off by saying that there could not have been a more perfect place to get my dental bonding done at than at Dental Concepts. My results exceeded my expectations 100 times, thanks to the amazing Dr Manish Chitnis. Initially I was sceptical to go for bonding, but after a proper consultation and 3d scans of my teeth, a smile was designed to suit my face and teeth and the test drive was simply awesome. After a couple of minor changes in the design, the final smile was decided and then composite bonding was done I couldn’t be happier with see my new smile. Before I used to not smile so much as my teeth were worn down and not seen so much, but now, I am the first one to flaunt my new shiny smile! Thank you Dr Manish and thank you Dental Concepts.
The only Dentist to ask me "If you would want anything done with your smile, what would it be"... AND did it! Dr Manish is gentle, kind and listens. His Team match his enthusiasm for getting things completed professionally and in a timely manner, with NO hidden costs or agendas either. My new bright smile is just amazing. I am now in more control. A VERY happy patient. Thank you, Dental Concepts Sandbanks.
very very happy with the service received. I had the Invisalign treatment and nothing but professional service and the after care is even better. Couldn't be happier and have recommended to everyone I know!!!
Thank you Dental Concepts for the dramatic change in my smile. It looks so much better now. I had Invisalign and the entire experience was amazing and well explained. The team was very friendly and helpful each time I went for my appointment and the results are there for everyone to see. I cannot stop smiling now!
I was very anxious and nervous as I was getting dental implants done along with porcelain veneers. But my mind was instantly put to rest by Dr Manish and the team at Dental Concepts. It’s incredibly important that you have trust in the people you deal with. All of the staff at Dental Concepts made me feel welcome and are very professional in what they do. That gave me the assurance to go through with the procedures and I have now scored my new smile a 9.9/10! Really pleased with the results. Would high recommend the practice to anyone easily.
Take my advice… Dr Manish is as magical as me! People now have that second look, the wow factor… the magical smile!! He gave me a temporary test drive of my new smile in half an hour and left me out in the world to check if it suits me and and then after I was convinced, like an expert mason, gave me a smile, which I nowadays pose about! Thank you!
