Now, while it is physically possible to use your clear aligners as your teeth whitening trays it’s not recommended. Here’s the reasons as to why this is not recommended.

  1. Your clear aligners fit extremely snugly to ensure your teeth do not relapse, this can mean that there is not sufficient space for the whitening gel, and it can force more gel onto your gums and cause irritation. 
  2. Under no circumstance should you begin teeth whitening if you have attachments still on your teeth. This is because once your attachments are removed you may be left with marks where the attachments had been. If, during your Invisalign treatment you feel as though your teeth are becoming stained, speak to your dentist! 

 

Is teeth whitening worth it after Invisalign?
Absolutely! Invisalign makes a huge difference to someone’s smile, but whitening can add that extra boost. Once your attachments have been removed and you’re free of your clear aligners, you’ll want to show off that smile, and there’s no better way than with a bright white smile.

Whitening teeth is best done over a period of time to prevent over sensitivity.
